Universite Protestante au Congo (UPC)

Part of the purpose of our trip will be to visit the UPC campus in Kinshasa. UPC was founded in 1959 in what was hten Stanleyville. Following the chaos of Independence in 1960 and rebellionthroughout the first half of the 60s, the college was relocated to the capital city of Kinshasa (then Leopoldville). We believe education is the long term solution for the Congo and all of Africa. Education steeped in Christian faith can change lives even as it helps to build a nation.
